My name is Paul Carola, and Im an artist in Houston, Texas with a primary focus of making sculptures. Im interested in the logographic elements of Egyptian hieroglyphs, the functionality of Scandinavian design, and the ideals of Japanese aesthetics pertaining to balancing simplicity with complexity.
The curved lines and shapes within my work are mostly inspired by the interplay between the female figure and various forms of worn attire. It is from the combination of these two elements, where a unique structural framework is visualized, and where I find my ideas.
